Freedom

Happy for no reason
but to be alive
and because it is my nature
this light, spacious openness
that carries no burdens
and knows no bounds.

I am free! There is nothing I need
to be happy.
The specifics no longer matter
for I am myself
regardless.

I am vast, like the endless sky
that clings to nothing.
Conditions pass through b
ut do not change my deeper nature
as the space where it happens-
a vibrant, alive space
intelligent and loving.

Freedom:
my own delicate, unfettered being
pure and unrestricted.
Just itself,
nothing added.

Witness

No longer locked in self-reflection
the phantom disappears
the I that's left the eye of the witness.

It is an impartial eye that reserves judgment.
There is no commentary
for there is no one to give speeches,
no one who sees.
Just seeing.

Sitting, seeing
the boundaries melt
until there is no inside and no outside
no entity at all
just pure, shimmering awareness.

I Am Woman

I am woman
a thousand limbs
taking in the life around me
feeding my soul, complexifying
spinning out of my own being
that which will surpass me.

Though they may bind my feet
I shall always walk
and should they sever my legs
I would fly
the power of my mysteries
deathless as the phoenix.

I am woman
creating a world where love comes first
and life is seen as precious
where nothing is more important than a child
and the rocks and plants are honored
as brother and sister spirits
knowing we are all blossoms of the One Tree.
Woman, birthed and birther
wrapped together as one prolific process.
My arms reach out pulling in life,
offering back my love.

The Autumn of a Woman's Life

Autumn is the season of revelation
the coming out of a richness and depth
previously hidden.

It is the time in a woman's life
when she has come into her own
no longer holding back for fear of offending
or threatening
or dying.

No longer blushing at what she knows
and who she has become,
she displays it freely
in the riotous colors of the hillsides
deep reds and purples, oranges and golds.

The beauty of other seasons is completed now,
rounded out by the breadth and maturity
of a woman who now laughs from her belly
having discovered in her body
a great and free land
far beyond what any man can conquer.

The autumn of a woman's life,
like the autum of nature ,
is a moment of brilliance
when we turn our faces to the sun.
